Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), has unveiled new padel courts at Transcorp Hilton Abuja as part of its continued investment in lifestyle and recreational facilities.

The new courts introduce one of the world’s fastest-growing sports to the hotel’s range of experiences, providing guests, families, professionals and Abuja’s growing community of active lifestyle enthusiasts with another avenue for recreation and social engagement.

The launch forms part of a series of investments by Transcorp Hotels aimed at enhancing guest experiences and creating an environment where business, leisure and recreation come together.

Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc, Uzoamaka Oshogwe, said the concept of modern hospitality had evolved beyond providing accommodation and dining services.

“People want more from hospitality today. They want places where they can work, unwind, stay active, and create meaningful memories all in one destination. That is what we are offering at Transcorp Hilton Abuja,” she said.

Oshogwe added that the new padel courts would provide guests and residents with an additional opportunity to socialise, stay active and enjoy recreational activities within the hotel.

“Our new padel courts are another way we are bringing people together and creating experiences our guests will love,” she said.

Padel, a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, has recorded significant global growth in recent years and is gaining popularity as both a recreational and social sport.

The new facility complements Transcorp Hilton Abuja’s existing lifestyle offerings, which include accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, swimming pools, as well as tennis and squash courts.

The hotel also houses the Transcorp Centre, a purpose-built events and conference facility with a capacity of up to 5,000 guests. The centre features a soundproof partitioning system that allows it to accommodate events of varying sizes, including corporate meetings, international conferences, exhibitions, weddings and cultural events.

According to Transcorp Hotels, the latest investment is part of its broader strategy to strengthen Transcorp Hilton Abuja’s position as a destination where business, leisure, hospitality and entertainment converge.

Transcorp Hotels Plc is the hospitality subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc, a listed African conglomerate with investments spanning the power, hospitality and energy sectors.
